We do not track, inspect, store, or analyze the contents of your media files or subtitle transcripts.

Active project state is stored in your browser's local IndexedDB database for offline editing.

1.Information We Do NOT Collect

Unlike conventional web services that transmit user video files to remote processing servers or cloud storage buckets, Subtitle Editor Online executes all operations locally on your hardware.

  • We do not upload or inspect your video files (.mp4, .webm, .mov, .mkv).
  • We do not upload or inspect your subtitle files (.srt, .vtt, .ass).
  • We do not collect personal account metadata, contact lists, or user identities when using the editor.
  • We do not require account registration or passwords to access any features.

2.In-Browser Technology & AI Processing

Media decoding, audio extraction, visual waveform rendering, and AI automatic speech recognition operate using browser-native technologies:

HTML5 Web Video API & Canvas: Decodes video frames and renders interactive timeline tracks in memory.
WebAssembly & WebGPU: Executes OpenAI Whisper machine learning models directly on your device CPU/GPU.
Browser IndexedDB & File System Access API: Saves working project drafts inside your browser's private sandbox.

3.Local Storage & Preferences

We use standard browser localStorage solely to persist user preferences (such as your preferred dark or light UI theme). We do not deploy persistent tracking cookies or third-party advertising trackers across third-party websites.

4.Managing & Deleting Your Local Data

You maintain full control over your project data. Because all project state is stored in your browser's IndexedDB and localStorage, clearing your web browser site data for subtitleeditoronline.com will immediately and permanently delete all local project drafts from your device.
